As a former little ballerina I was also inspired after reading "Hope In A Ballet Shoe" by Michaela Deprince to make the ballet shoes a focal point. From being orphaned by war in Sierra Leone to one of the most prominent ballerinas in the world, her story is just like many of others whose lives were saved by dance at a young age.
